Engineering plastics are a group of plastic materials that have better mechanical and/or thermal properties than the more widely used commodity plastics. 

An Elastomer is a polymer with viscoelasticity. Rubber-like solids with elastic properties are also called elastomers. Polymer chains are held together in these materials by relatively weak intermolecular bonds,which permit the polymers to stretch in response to macroscopic stresses.
